Killer Burger Recipe

This recipe is a favourite that I adapted from Joyous Health.  In the picture, I made it with organic bison, from a local butcher.  However you can make it with ground turkey or even lean ground beef. I recommend that you buy organic and grass fed beef if you have the option, and a good local butcher should have that.

To make it as healthy as possible, you can wrap it in a massive piece of iceberg lettuce, and I added in some tomato, avocado, onion and sprouts for extra flavour.

Serves:

7-8

Ingredients:

  • 1lb lean organic bison, or ground organic turkey/beef
  • 2 large cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chopped red onion
  • 1 TBSP tamari
  • 1 egg
  • 6 sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
  • ½ tsp of hot red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper

Directions:

  1. Heat the oven to 350F
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
  3. Mince the garlic and chop the onion
  4. Beat the egg in a large bowl
  5. Add in all remaining ingredients and mix well
  6. Sometimes it's best to get a little dirty and use your hands
  7. Form into burgers
  8. Place on baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes and flip and bake another 10 minutes
