Guilt Free Chocolate Chip Cookies

Guilt free, gluten free, dairy free, chocolate chip cookies.  Need I say more?

Now, I consider these cookies guilt free, as they’re relatively low sugar (for a cookie).  So, I don’t want you to expect them to be super sweet, as they’re not.  But that’s the beauty of it – no sugar crash post cookie.  In fact, I’ve had a couple for an afternoon snack and have felt great until dinner.

The cookies are full of nutrient dense foods, and actually have a secret ingredient that you would never have expected to be in cookies: tahini. SO, if you’ve made my quinoa salad recipe and have leftover tahini, this is the perfect recipe.  As I’ve mentioned before, tahini is a great source of calcium AND magnesium.

The cookies also contain gluten free oats which contain a type of fiber called beta-glucan. Studies have shown that this helps remove excess, bad cholesterol.  Lastly, the cookies have raw cacao nibs, which are an excellent source of magnesium and give you a nice little energy boost!

  • 1 cup tahini
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ cup coconut sugar
  • 2 TBSP ground chia seeds, mixed with ⅓ c water
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • 1 cup gluten free oats
  • 1 cup coconut flakes
  • 1 TBSP raw honey (room temp)
  • ¼ cup raw cacao nibs
  • ¼ cup mini chocolate chips (I used Enjoy Life)
  • ⅓ cup walnuts, chopped


  1. Preheat oven to 350F
  2. In a small bowl, grind the chia seeds and mix with water and set aside
  3. In another bowl, mix together the tahini, cinnamon, coconut sugar, salt and chia mixture
  4. Then mix in the coconut flakes, cacao nibs, chocolate chips, walnuts and oats
  5. Lastly, mix in the honey
  6. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper
  7. Roll cookies into small balls and then flatten the tops
  8. Bake for 18-20 min
