When Life Gives You Lemons…
…Make Warm Lemon Water
The other day someone asked me if I could recommend ONE thing to make her healthier, what would it be? I proceeded to blab for a good five minutes about 15 different things, and didn’t really answer the question. Since I’ve already told you about my Smoothie Ritual, one habit that I think is an EASY and AWESOME addition to your daily routine is drinking a big glass of warm lemon water upon rising every morning. Here’s why:
- Maximizes the function of enzymes found in your liver, which is your main detoxifying organ, therefore helping detoxify your body.
- Helps stimulate digestion and keep things moving so your body can eliminate toxins.
- Alkalizes the body (while lemon juice is acidic, the minerals have an alkalizing effect on the body).
- Provides a nice dose of Vitamin C & Antioxidants for the day.
So give it a try and who knows, you might even be able to replace your coffee with lemon water!
Note: Don’t use the packaged lemon juice. Use the juice of ½ a fresh lemon.
