Baked White Fish

Knowing what fish to buy and what to avoid is confusing.  When I came across this guide from David Suzuki, I was thrilled, because it’s very clear on what kinds of fish are lowest in heavy metals.

With this recipe, you can use a white fish that is available to you, and fits with the guide above, if possible. Note: the veggies on the bottom aren’t included in the recipe, but you could make my Roasted Vegetables to go with these.

I also recommend topping with salsa, either homemade or bought.

Ingredients:

  • 3 filets of white fish
  • Generous sprinkling of sea salt & pepper
  • Drizzle of olive oil
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Optional (and recommended topping): salsa

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350F
  2. Line baking sheet with parchment paper
  3. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, olive oil, lemon juice & herbs of your choice
  4. Cook for 10-15 minutes, depending on the thickness
  5. I usually don't mind if it's a bit on the undercooked side.
